Kitchen & Open-Plan Interior Design
Kitchen and open-plan interior design requires more than selecting finishes. It begins with strategic layout planning.
I specialise in open-plan kitchen design for homes across the East Midlands, helping homeowners plan functional layouts before renovation begins. Strategic space planning ensures your kitchen, dining and living zones work together seamlessly.
This service focuses on transforming inefficient layouts into highly functional, balanced spaces that support modern family living. From kitchen island positioning to zoning open-plan areas, every decision is resolved before construction begins.
I work with homeowners across the East Midlands, including Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Birmingham, and Solihull, helping plan kitchen extensions and open-plan renovations before construction begins.
Kitchen Extension & Open Plan Layout Design
Open-plan kitchens are one of the most requested layouts in UK renovations — but without proper planning, they can quickly feel chaotic or unbalanced.
Professional layout design ensures:
• Clear circulation routes
• Proportional island sizing
• Logical appliance placement
• Balanced zoning between cooking, dining and living
• Integrated storage solutions
• Strong visual flow throughout the space
My approach prioritises spatial logic first, ensuring the kitchen works efficiently before aesthetic decisions are finalised.

Why Professional Kitchen Design Matters Before Construction
The kitchen is one of the most complex and expensive areas of a home renovation.
Poor planning can lead to:
🚩 Oversized or undersized kitchen islands
🚩 Inefficient workflow between sink, hob and fridge
🚩 Insufficient storage
🚩 Awkward seating arrangements
🚩 Poor lighting positioning
🚩 Expensive mid-build design changes
Resolving these elements early ensures your renovation budget is used efficiently and avoids unnecessary structural adjustments later.
If you are planning a kitchen extension or open-plan renovation and want to ensure the layout is fully resolved before construction begins, professional kitchen and open-plan interior design provides structure, clarity and long-term functionality. Submit your project enquiry to begin the process.

In most cases, Phase One (Layout & Concept Design) includes all the essential information needed to begin working with your contractors. It provides a fully resolved kitchen layout, cabinetry configuration and overall design direction.
Phase Two offers more detailed technical drawings, elevations and specifications for projects that require a higher level of precision.
If full technical detailing isn’t necessary, you can combine Phase One with Electrical Plans, which is often sufficient to proceed confidently with construction.
